Message from Management
Thoughts infused with the new corporate name and the future of TOA
We live in an era in which companies are expected to have a significance of existence for society.
Toward the next 100 years, we desire to deliver “Yorokobi (Joy of Beauty)” to all people involved.
Under the new corporate name of TOA Inc., all employees and management are working together to build a company where everyone can play an active role while taking on new challenges.
Our company was founded in 1912 by Yoshiomi Kanzaki. At that time, we started the business under the corporate name of “Kinryoen” and distributed our products with trademarks registered as ROZEN and SHIRAHO. However, the plant we had in the center of Osaka was destroyed by an air raid at the end of World War II, and after the war, we made a fresh start specializing in the contract manufacturing of cosmetics.
In 1968, we entered into a licensing agreement with Kolmar Laboratories Inc., USA (hereinafter referred to as “Kolmar”), a member of the world’s largest cosmetic OEM group at the time, and then we changed our corporate name to “Nihon Kolmar Co., Ltd.”. In the latter half of the 1980s, our business grew to the 10 billion Japanese yen level of sales that was comparable to Kolmar’s at that time and since we developed our ability sufficiently, we ended up canceling out of the technical collaboration with Kolmar and our relationship was shifted into a new phase.
The whole society has also entered into an era in which companies can no longer pursue sales and profits only. Management to take all stakeholders including shareholders, employees, clients and business partners into consideration with the attention to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), ESG (Ecology, Social, Governance), SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), etc. is now requested. In the midst of major changes in the business environment such as intensifying competition in the cosmetic industry, expansion of the contract manufacturing industry, and a shift to management that takes all stakeholders into consideration, we have been reaffirming our origin as a cosmetic OEM/ODM company, and at the timing of the relocation of our head office, we made a decision to change our corporate name to “TOA Inc.” which stands for our service “Total Outsourcing Access”, signifying the desire to step up to the next generation.
“Together with ”Yorokobi (Joy of Beauty)””. We hope that this corporate name change will serve as an opportunity for all employees and management to work together to build a company where everyone can play an active role while taking on new challenges such as customer service, productivity improvement, benefits, etc., under the new corporate name of “TOA Inc.” toward the next 100 years.

Attention! Origin of the new symbol mark and philosophy
Origin of the symbol mark TOAVisualize “Earth” from a global perspective and “Access” from the perspective of flexibility with an intelligent and clean image in blue
The symbol mark TOA expresses the philosophy and aspirations for our activities infused with our corporate name TOA which stands for “Total Outsourcing Access”.
The “T” in TOA is represented by a strong horizontal and vertical shape, and the “O” represents the earth.
In the era of being requested for management that takes all stakeholders into consideration, it represents our commitment to promote sustainable management from a global perspective in order to realize “Total Outsourcing” to comprehensively respond to diversifying needs for various forms of outsourcing operations.
In addition, adding the dynamic movement into the “A” represents the presence to obtain “Access” from clients and society widely.
The blue gradation is selected as a color that pledges to remain an intelligent and clean company.
Origin of the philosophy “Together with “Yorokobi (Joy of Beauty)””A company that delivers joy through beauty and health and works together with all people involved
We have been delivering “Joy” to our clients through “Beauty” and “Health” since the establishment. We hope to continue to deliver joy to society and all people we interact with, and continue to work together with you. We have chosen “Yorokobi”, a coined word by combining “Joy” and “Beauty”, and added “Together with” to it to determine “Together with ”Yorokobi (Joy of Beauty)”” as our philosophy, which we use as a statement to accompany our new corporate name.
Origin of the character “TOA”A “drop where it all starts” that represents a flash of insight for idea creation
We are a company that produces “contents” to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Therefore, we value a flash of insight for idea creation. We take the flash of insight as a “drop where it all starts”, and created a character that represents a drop of water. When a drop of water falls, a ripple spreads out and it eventually becomes an all-encompassing “harmony” or “earth”. We entrust this character with the role of conveying the spirit of our company.
